Restaurants

In the city centre, there are more than 70 restaurants. In many of them you can order dishes from freshly caught fish, which is thanks to the fact, that fishing is one of the core economic activities of Bergen. We recommend you to try the Bergen fish soup with cream, and from the main courses a cod, wolf-fish or an anglerfish. Directly on Bryggen, you can find three restaurants that offer fish courses: "SAS Radisson", "Enhjøringen" and "Bryggeloftet og stuene"
There are exclusive, fish, typical Norwegian, meat restaurants etc. Bergen is a cosmopolitan city and therefore it is not surprising that choice of an international cuisine is wide. You can for example have for dinner Japanese sushi, Chinese pork, American steak or Turkish kebab. In Bergen you also find Mexican, Greek, Indian, Mongolian, Spanish and Italian restaurants.
 

Aqua park

The aqua park Vannkanten lies just 10 minutes driving from the city centre. Water attractions, steam bath, sauna, Jacuzzi, outside and inside pools, massage, fitness centre, restaurant and bowling.

Cinema

There are three cinemas in Bergen. All movies are shown in original language with Norwegian subtitles. The Bergen cinema "Concert Palace" has 13 rooms and is situated in the centre, on Neumannsgate 3. In October 2004 a new cinema "Magnus Barfot" with a capacity for 1060 visitors was opened right next to the "Concert Palace". The third cinema "Forum" can be found on the square "Danmarkplassen".
 

Bowling

You can choose from four bowling centres in Bergen: in the city centre, at the aqua park Vannkanten, in Åsane and in Loddefjord. All of them have modern equipment and sell refreshments.
 

Other entertainment

In Bergen, you can also play golf, squash, tennis, go carting, ride a horse and skate on the ice-ring. In the evening you can go and explore some of the plentiful pubs and bars. The night-life is abundant especially on Fridays and Saturdays, when you can even expect to wait in a queue to enter a club.
